Educating girls is a real lifesaver

EAP1 S/R
Lynette

In the article, "Educating girls is a real lifesaver" by Victoria Brittain and Larry Elliott, the authors say, the education of girls is very important to reduce the poverty. There are many young girls who are not educated and have problems such as early death, serious diseases, and they live like slaves in poor countries. Moreover, as these girls are growing, this pattern repeatedly happens dooming even the next generations. The authors state poor countries can break the cycle concerning the fate of girls by educating girls. Also, educated girls can help the development of economies when girls are in schools.

Girls who are educated can help to improve national economies for two reasons. One, girls are more intelligent, in specific part, than boys. When people educate girls for the development of a girl’s abilities, their abilities might increase the income of companies in these poor nations. For example, girls have a better language ability than boys, fluency and verbal expression. For that reason, there are many announcers and reporters in broadcasting stations, and employers hire many girls who are educated. Also, girls are good job at handling many tasks. so many companies that produce detailed stuff want female workers and teach females.

Two, educating girls has a very good affect on the next generation. In order words, when girls who are educated become mothers, they raise their children wisely. Educated girls know how important education is. They teach their children when their children do not know something or have questions about class work. For instance, many mothers tend to stuffy English more and more in Korea. They want to help their children with school work and teach their children themselves. Moreover, wise mothers teach their children how to use money. This means that children gain an understanding of the word economy, and then they can save money.

In conclusion, educating girls is an effective way to start a growing economy, and this is a root cause in order to be a strong nation.

Educating Girls Is a Real Lifesaver by Ayu Usui

In the article ”Educating Girls Is a Real Lifesaver” by Victoria Brittain and Larry Elliott, the author s discuss how many people know that the schooling of girls is a certain way to help poor countries economically, and individually. Actually, there are many countries that don’t educate girls because of customs that started long time ago. Girls were excluded from education for this reason, and continue to be presently. Some people think girls schooling isn’t the way to escape from poverty. Presently, this thinking is changing to be more progressive. However, in many countries that still have conservative societies, there are many women who still don’t have access to education and they sacrifice themselves for their families and societies. The author states that education is the way to decrease baby death. In fact, that’s true and we can say that this kind of problem cause some environmental problems so we can’t neglect these changing.
Schooling girls is vital problem because that causes many other problems such as economical, social and environmental. Also the problem is related with not only girls. First, schooling girls has some effects on economic because when girls are educated, they can get the jobs. And decreasing employee has some good influence on economy. It helps the country’s economic level, that is, the level is going up and the country will be wealth. Second, for raising social level, girls should be taken education. If they get education, the social level is going to high because people who are educated are orderly except special people. For example, the crime rate is high in low education class and its opposite in the high education class. And it’s proved by researchers, that no education cause many crimes. Third, environmental problems are caused by lower level education. If people got enough education, they can think about environment and take care of that. However people who don’t have enough education use the ground selfish. Therefore, the problems such as global warming and raising sea level happen. In conclusion, there are many serious and urgent problems because of no or low education, so girls must be received education.

The Path to Successful Future

What high school students care about is what they’ll do in their weekend, want kind of boy or girl they want, when they’ll get a new car or get out of school. But the main point here is how this students wake up and thinking about their future without a clue from their parents and their teachers, and it’s important to know how they decide of which major they take. Students must start to plan for the future from the first year of high school.

Making a plan about the major is very difficult especially when the teenagers don’t have much information about the majors and jobs. So, the beginning will be from the teachers and give the students more information about all majors and give them the freedom to see themselves in these jobs. Let them to take some tests and show them how they did in these tests. Moreover, it’s more important to understand their skills and theirtalent. The plan will be easier if there are some help.

When they finish the high school here will be the next step. Choosing the path of the future, and it’s the time to decide what the students want to be. This is not easy specially if the student didn’t take the tests or learned about the different major. So the problem will be what they are going to do. So they just see what their friends doing and do the same thing. And here is another problem. They discovered in the meddle if the way that major is different from their skills, so they change the major to something else.

Future for the children is just to be rich and successful, and this is something good to choose. But what happen in high school is like a nap from this stuff and leave it to another time so in the last year in high school they mention that they need to choose the way to be famous and successful, so they want to be doctors or engineers. In addition. They need important help to wake them up to start planning to the future from the first year of school. In conclusion, if we teach our children about good jobs in our life their mind will discovered there are a lot of important things to care about like choosing the path of the future.

SUMMARY RESPONSE

In the article, “Educating girls is a real lifesaver” by Victoria Brittain and Larry Elliott, the author discuses that one of the best ways to reduce poverty is the education of girls in poor countries. The young girls of poor rural communities are illiterate and have big problems because they are living deprived of the basic essences of life. These girls deal with terrible situations such as premature births, back-breaking work, etc. However, there are bigger problems because poverty and anguish are linked in a repeating pattem not only among the fust generations but also the next generations. To improve this problem, girls has to improve in conservative countries for the education of girls to happen. They can be relieved of poverty and can live better lives though education.
These days, people think that the young girls of poor rural communities do notneed education and only boys need education because people of poor countries havefeudalistic customs. However, poor countries should have an educational liability untilat least the middle school for girls, because education plays an important role in everyone’s life. Countries should give a chance to girls and all citizens to live happy lives. For example, girls can live happier lives if they look for their loving works and can join their livelihood though educational liability. Thus, educational liability is important to everyone’s lives.
Second, young girls need a social organization of protecting their children. If girls should go to school in order to be educated, girls need an organization that takes careof their sons and daughters. For example, when girls go to school, their children can play with children of about the same age and can learn social skills though teachers. Then girls can study hard in school and can feel comfortable about their children’s well-being.
Third, poor countries should remove sexual discrimination. If there is gender Discrimination in a country with a one sided gender development, it can not difficult not only the other side gender’s development but also a balanced development. When both men and women’s skills are developed, the country gains benefits. For example, it has different from man and woman’s ability. If only boy’s ability develops, the country’s development very difficult because it can demonstrate only a half ability among country’s population rate.
In conclusion, I think girls should have education in the poor countries. So a citizen contributes to a privilege of happy life. In order to have a happy life, at least until the middle school, poor girls should have compulsory education. Also, while girls go to the school, their son and daughters were talked care of teacher of a social organization. Then poor countries should remove a sexual discrimination among their feudal custom to country’s benefit.

"Educating Girls is a Real Lifesaver"

Summary/Response

By Hyunsung Cho

The article,” Educating Girls is a Real Lifesaver” by Victoria Brittain and Larry Elliott, talks about poor countries where women receive little education. Women in poor countries have many problems such as disease, infant deaths, and a lot of births due to little education. Thus they need education because it can help the economies grow, reduce the infant mortality rate and improve the environment. In the last 30 to 40years, the countries that have accomplished
gender impartiality have been developing quickly. The poor countries need to change from conservative thoughts that women never need to be educated. Once they get rid of hidebound ideas, there can be equal payment and education. Every year, many children have been killed by infectious diseases. However, although some of the countries remain, they are indicating lower infant mortality rate through school education of girls. Also, the authors discuss
how poor countries in main farming areas such as Africa and southern Asia, are able to offer many opportunities in the development of agriculture though education. This could prevent environmental problems in these regions such as malnutrition and global warming effects throughout the world.
Women should be educated around the world in order to decrease social problems. It is very important for children futures and the equality of sexes as well as national development.
First of all, women’s education plays a pivotal role in children’s futures, mostly, women become a mothers, and mother’s education a degree influences the education of her children. For example, children who have mothers who are doctors appear to have a higher probability of also becoming doctors. In this way, education offers a lot of opportunities for children in the future.
Second, education should be available to women in order to have equality of the sexes. Education provides a lot of information and knowledge, and one will gain understanding of one’s rights and duties. So, women could against an unfair dealing and to claim own’s one a right, also it could fortify equality of the sexes.
Third, women’s education contribute to national development of third-world countries. There are clever people, men as well as women. So, countries should offer women a chance for education, and women’s ability should develop. There are many women scientists in Korea. They have been finding good research results by delicate of women. It contribute to not only one’s own development ,but also national development.
In conclusion, women’s education should be required because it influences families, societies, and nations. It is evident that education needs to be available to women.

The stress of exams

In my Institute in IIMIT, (2005), last semester I had 19 hours per week. The subjects were very hard and there was not much time to study for the final exam. It was very stressful and I was afraid of not doing well in the exams. I did a schedule and a study group with some of my friends in the institute and tried to give every part a subject that he is good in to summarize it and do some questions and answers for it. We all got a copy of the summary and tried to study it individually. After we finished, we did a group to study so if any body did not understand any thing they will explain it to him. The good thing was that most of us did well in the exam.

According to Seal (1997) in” psychology and cancer,”he discusses how our mental state can influence our physical health. Without doubt, it is clear that the mind plays a powerful role in the health of the body. To illustrate that, I can refer to evidence in the chapter, and support it by my own experience and beliefs.

As evidence, after an even that can lead somebody in depression situation, this person is easily exposed to lack of confidence that can cause a lot of disease such a cancer. That what has been proven by a study of widowed husband? Therefore, in the study of widowed husbands, schiefler et al. (1980) found that within two months after the deaths of their wives, these men’s white blood cells functioned less effectively. As the moment the mind is a strong support of our body, when the mind is affected, I think the body also is affected and in this case, your health is severe touched by disease.

In addition, when you have strong mind, I think you have good health and you are not expose to sickness, and the same time you feel happy and you will be able to do whatever you like. For instance, when the student time of stress arrives, such a exam the student can easily caught a disease because his immune cells become less active and his resistance to disease decrease.

Furthermore in my own personal case when I was in my A level class, I have a girlfriend she came and tell me that she got pregnant and I am responsible for that. I was so surprise and afraid because my parents can never hear that, I don’t really know what to do, I was thinking seriously and too confuse, I was not feeling good in my mind .I could not keep one sentence in my mind .the result of that I failed my exam that time.

All in, more you feel good with your mind, the more you feel healthy. That is why the mental states can influence physical health. With good health, you have everything

Stressful Event In My Life

When I studied in the last grade junior high school, I was falling in the strongly stress situation, because every student as me has to pass through many tough tests to attend in to the ideal senior high school. During that time, I studied so hard every time, but there were so many test to pass that made me confuse about my future, I didn't recognize what I was doing for, for passing the tests or attend into a ideal school, and what is my ideal school for? For getting rid off stress, Sometimes, my friends rode their motorbikes and took me to the beach or racing with each other. Those times were dangerous and lost but really comfortable and fresh, just like letting me breath again. During the stress from the huge thousands of tests, I think it has really killed my health by anyway.

How mental states can influence physical health.

I would like to discuss how mental states can influence physical health. Give an example and I explain it. Afterward, I tell what the most important thing is.
In case of person who has the terminal cancer, a doctor told him about limit of his life. The doctor said that he wouldn’t be able to live enough time any more. Also the doctor said that his life has limit by six months. However, he had never lost his gats. Then, he could live until three years. Actually it has some cases that people who got terminal cancer overcame their disease because of their gats.
Finally, the most important thing is always having positive thinking, which will help better our life.

When I get some stress written by Jun

When I decided to come to America, I got some stress. Cause it was just weeks that I back to social from army. Korea soldier who must go to army cannot leave from unit except their vacations. So they almost seperate from society and when soldier is back to the society they feel so strange where they live. In my case it is first time to study other contries. Futhermore, I'd never been to other countries. So I was afraid to come here and it was stressful to me.

But when I got stress I always think about bright future in America, and just close my eyes to relax my body. Then I feel comfortable, and it makes my body to release. I think this act can be cause human bodies healthy. When we release our bodies then our bodies can give more effective blood circulation. That make us to healthy.

Stress Summary

The author, Seal, (1997), discusses stress. He defines stress as the physical and emotional response to a stimulus or stressor. Big life events, physical disasters, daily problems cause stress, which we have to deal with.
Seyle, a physiologist, has studied reaction to stress in animals and humans and describes three stages in his general adaptation syndrome. First, in the alarm reaction, we recognize a danger. Second, in the resistance reaction we try to solve or avoid the problem. Finally, if there is no solution we enter the exhaustion stage. Seyle says in rats you can expect their reaction to be the same but in humans you can’t. Moreover, humans are reactions varied and depend on who is the receiver and how well he or she receive the stressor and whether the person who receives the stressor is going to handle it or not.
